Propshaft differences

Hi all,

Quick question, is there any difference between 200 and 300 4 bolt propshafts regarding the drive flange on the axle and transfer box?

No but they're a different length

Ok, I assume that's because of differences between the lt77 and r380 gearboxes then?

Trying to source a new one for my '87 LR90....that isn't Britpart!

Britpart ones are sort of ok. Just make sure they're greased up and if it bothers you put some good UJs on it

Thanks for the advice, I'm only asking because I'm fitting 24 spline axles to mine whilst still using an lt77 gearbox

I've got 24 spline axles on an LT77, britpart rear prop, been good as gold for 12 months now.

I think the diff noses are the same length and you can use standard 200tdi props (if that's what you have fitted) though don't quote me on that

Yep 200 prop, mine are disco axles, just need to swap prop flange on diff to a 4 bolt from the donut coupling. Plenty of kits out there that include the correct flange (different depths I believe) and the nut etc.

Ok, thanks everyone. While I'm on the subject, are wide angle props worth having with a 2 inch lift, my old props used to go through ujs like no tomorrow when it was on standard height springs and I'd rather minimise the amount of time underneath it after rebuilding it
