hi is there anyone around the leeds area that would be able to have a look at my disco 300tdi as ive a problem with severe juddering when i take up drive and when i drop a gear when slowing down, this has all happened since ive had a recon gearbox new clutch and new input shaft gear but the garage are being a holes.
thanks

Take it back to whoever fitted the clutch as it sounds like the pressure/release plate has been fitted incorrectly.

ive now noticed when i was under the car whilst my son was taking up drive that the front prop judders whilst the drive is taken but the rear prop doesnt.the garage are being complete a..holes.i was recommended to use these as they are suppose to be excellent with landrovers and they are a specialist.
i have but all he is saying is that its not down to them they will strip it but if they dont find its there fault he will bill me for wasting his time,he also said im like everyone else saying it wasnt doing it when it went in apparently im a typical customer thats trying it on,and if he had a pound for every person that says this he would be a very rich man..

I take it it was the same garage that fitted both the g/box and clutch?
Don't shoot me down in flames here for stating the obvious but it isn't in 4x4 is it? as wind-up would cause that as well.

the 300tdi is in constant 4 wheel drive you dont have an option for it not to be they run 4x4 all the time.but its in the normal box and the difflock is off,its on normal road use.yes its the same garage that did all the work

Sorry i didn't word that correctly i was referring to the diff lock:doh:

no the difflock isnt engaged.once ive taken up the drive there is no issue its just whilst using the clutch, you can also see the front wheels juddering like hell when it does it

That sounds like a clutch problem to me but can't be certain without driving it and you are a bit far away to pop round. If the garage that fitted it are not helping I would go to another garage and ask for a quote for fixing the problem and see what they think don't let them take it to bits just drive it, if it is the clutch they should be able to tell you so. If it is the clutch go to the garage that did the work and tell them to get it fixed or you will get it done else were and bill them..
