Problem with my power steering HELP!!

Hi I have recently noticed that my power steering is starting to get heavy, and a couple of times it has locked when I have been trying to reverse. If i turn the wheel round as far as it can go, you can hear air escaping from it, can someone please advise what this is, and do you think it's going to cost a lot of money.

I have a 2008 freelander HST.

not sure, is this a freelander 2 then ?

the air you can here may just be the bypass valve operating when you are on full lock.

there has been a few issues with F2 steering racks lately, subject of a recall / tech bulletin.

2008, must still be under warranty ? just ?

thanks for coming back to me. Yes it is a freelander 2.0, but alas it has just come out of warranty.

I'll get it to a garage tomorrow, and hope it doesn't cost me an arm and leg
