Hi all i have had my s3 now for a few weeks. I went out last night when it was dark and turned my diped headlights on and they wernt very bright so i had to drive with my full beam on as they were much better.
I changed the bulbs today but no diffrence they are as dim as my side lights
Anyone have any ideas to my problem
Thanx.

check the multi plug in the engine bay near to the steering box as it can cause problems and also the wiring inside the front panel behind the grill aswell as all the earths inc the earth cable running from the battey to the chassis, hope this helps :)

Do you still have the sealed beam units? They're not great, you can convert to proper halogen bulbs for bugger all. Plus, we all have spot lights, I wonder why??:rolleyes::D:D:D:D:D

All the conections seem fine. And the earths.
And i have the h4 bulb headlights fitted.
Would it be possible to fit a relay to the dip beam

relays are the best thing you can do to improve your lighting, remember most Series landrovers have at least 35 years of corrosion and tired switches to contend with (not to mention poor earths), while you're at it add a couple of extra earth leads from the front end, every little helps

my '65 109 has excellent lights, Hella H4 run through relays and extra earthing, no spotlights needed

Great news thanx. And ill put a few extra earth in and a relay to the lights and see how i get on. Thanx for the advice.

Definitely relay the lamps. All those watts go through the switch gear, which after 30+ years is going to cause problems. My tratter needs full rewire, so count yourself lucky.

I wired a relay in to the dip and one to the full beam so i have the option of putting more watt bulbs in as i put thicker wire in to.
