Problem with heater matrix!

Hi all been a long time since I been on but as usual there are reasons. The main one being I changed address in sunny Spain and it has taken me 6 mths to get back online.
Ok back to the question will it be ok to run the car without the heater matrix?
Its leeking like a googun and I can not be bothered to replace it, especially over here as very rare do I use the heat. Can i just bypass it in the engine bay or would I need to be more indepth job. Any help please.

When my matrix was clogged in my old 300TDi Disco and causing overheat problems (something to do with flow), I bypassed it with a U-pipe in the engine bay before the bulkhead...... worked fine afterward.

Exactly what I was thinking of doing, especially as there is no need really to have the heat ( maybe once, in a while in the winter) only other thing does anyone know if it would affect the Aircon?

Surely not, the aircon coldness comes from the refridgerant not water.

Aircon is completely seperate from the cooling system. I know cause I just removed the aircon system from a 200tdi that I'm breaking.
