Hey guys and gals. Im in process of buying a 110 however one thing stops me. This is my wife she seems to think that a 110 is to big for her to drive as her daily vehicle an would prefer to drive an auto. My question is how do i convince her as we do alot of camping an have a camper trailer an love 4wding. ITs a toughy but i really want the landrover 110. She see's my point about the travelling and towing but wants to be able to use it everyday to do shopping ect.

Argh... Its too big... mental, when will they learn.

I would agree with wherewaldo, tell her something like because its longer it steers better...

Get her out for a test drive in one (landrover showrooms can be good for something) and she will be fine.

If it helps your case my missus adores our 110 and would not drive any other vehicle in preference. The power steering makes it easy to point in the right direction and with such a grunty lump under the bonnet its great in traffic, no need for clutch / gear changes. We bought ours off a lady in central London who used it for shopping!

When we were looking around my wife said a 110 was far too big, in fact that any LR was far too big and was keen on a teeny Suzuki thing. One sit in that and it was eliminated and then a Grand Vitara was on the list..Eeek. I got home one day and she said there was a 4x4 for sale just 1/2 a mile down the road outside someones house. She thought it was ideal.....it was a 110! I cant get her out of it now. It was all I could do to stop her painting flowers on it. How could I drive it then ?! I agree that the test drive thing will swing it. It might have a limited steering lock and not be very nippy but after a spin around the lanes / town etc I am sure she wont be parted. You could tell her the only alternative is a Suzuki Jimny. One drive in that and you will be back with the LR! AndyC

My wife reacted a little in the same way. Sh eloved the "chunky look" ofthe landrover, but didnt think she could handle "such a big thing" ( I think she was talking about the landrover ) :)
Anyway..Once she sat in it and drove up the street, I couldnt get her out of it. She said she feels "protected" in it and very safe. She also noted what a great view you have from up there !
Now we not only have a 110 that we fight about who is going to drive that day ( we have 2 mercedes cars too ) But we are at the moment also looking to buy a 90 too !
Once shes bitten............( it gets expensive ) ;) good luck !
