Private plate

hi all, my mate recently baught a disco which has a private number plate on it. hes now decided to sell the car and ive advised him to sell the number plate before he sells the car. Anyway the Reg is S2 DCX which would be ideal for a series 2 owner. im not trying to sell it yet but if somebody is interested he might well sell it. Thanks

He would need to hold on retention (£85) which includes transferring onto another vehicle. The current one would be issued its' original plate if available, or a replacement and can be sold. The private reg would be retained on a piece of paper in effect to be sold, or transferred later onto another vehicle of 98 (s reg) or newer.

There are plenty of companies that will sell it for him, and value it - or he could have a bash on ebay once it is retained. He would then put the buyers details down as 'nominee' and send them the papers.

Series 2 Discovery or were they later than that?
