Having just purchased a P38 2.5 DHSE (Auto) 1998 I intend to fit either a Powerbox or a Superchip.
What would you fit and which model and where can I get one?

glad you have a sense of humour cos you will need it owning a p38.also for use on this forum.:D:D:p;)

Yes, I previously had a 4.6 HSE on LPG but some silly fool driving a Renault Clio too fast in the ice and snow lost control and wrote it off as a total loss. Shame as it was sorted and going perfectly.
She was in a courtesy car as she had written off her own car the previous week. So in two weeks that silly cow wrote off four cars.

You're gonna need a damn good chip to go from a 4.6 to DSE :) :)

If you've got the dosh go see Jeremy Fearn for a whole hog chip and intercooler upgrade, its your only hope ;)

i disagree,my p38 can turn a few heads when you put your foot down with a psi powerbox fitted.it has surprised a few people who thought it would be slow.

I know, I've got one too, but I've also got a 3.9 V8:p:p
Against the clock there isn't a whole pile in it but the instant pick up of the V8 is intoxicating in a way that the DSE, nice as it is for a diesel, will never be. And the 4.6 is a step up again from the 3.9. No two ways about it the 2.5 is going to feel slow in comparison.

i agree it will be slower than any v8 petrol engine but with the power box fitted it makes a big difference over the standard 2.5 diesel.;)

I just had a "tunit" chip fitted...its a plug and play thing so can be removed anytime...more bhp more torque and 10% more mpg. I could feel the difference straight away...went from the standard 177 bhp to 215..from 289 lbs/ft to 322 lbs/ft .not bad for something thats fitted in minutes!!!!

Arrhh but Huntert you have a newer Range Rover L322 with 3 litre diesel not a 2.5 DT! You have a better engine full stop. Max you can get out of a 2.5DT is 160 bhp and that is with it in A1 condition and yes it is an improvement but doesn't even reach your start point! (177bhp)

I've got a PSI box on mine and it certainly is better, but oh to have the 2.7 TDV6 that my mate has in his Disco 3!!

I just meant that the "tunit" unit might give you some decent gains mate. Iv never driven a 2.5 dt, is there really that much difference?
