Power Steering Whine?

Hi all. I have recently tightened my power steering belt because the steering was very notchy on tick over. Tightening the belt cured the notchy steering problem, but it has now developed a whining noise when the steering is turned. I also noticed on the way home just that it was starting to whine slightly when just driving along in a straight line?

Does this mean my power steering pump is on its way out?
If so any ideas how much it'll cost to fix?

I cant help Im afraid, but if its any consolation, my 110 makes a horrible whining noise sometimes. It always comes from the front passenger side, and it only occurs when the wife is sat in that seat. The whining doesnt stop until she gets out

you mut have got her from britpart then,when you replace her get a genuine landy one. slighty dearer but much better quality

I think its the original one and the landy has done 213000 miles.

maybe a stupid suggestion but when my mate bought his 110 hi cap his was the same constantly whining then got worse when you turn. it turned out to be slightly low powersteering fluid. dont kno if that is of any use?

I found out today that the fluid has got water in it, so I think that might be the problem. Cheers for the input.
