Hello Landy zone
I am lucky enough to have a 09 defender 110 with a 2.4 diesel (transit) engine.
We are very much in love, however, when driving on motor ways for an hour or so at 70mph the temp gauge spikes and the power goes at the same time. once the speedo drops to about 50mph the temp gauge goes back to half way on the gauge and the power comes back.
This happened about 10 x on a 3hr journey.
is it a relay?
is it a sensor?
HELP!!!! PLEASE
wylie

Could be a sensor problem. Or if the sensors are doing their job you might have a problem with the cooling system. Have you checked the coolant level, and checked the radiator is not clogged up with muck / leaves / dead flies?

Hello. power limitation is enabled due to overheating or because the computer thinks it is overheating. But the cause of overheating must be dealt with. Or as the coolant level, dirty radiators and bad electrical contacts said correctly. Including "-"

Thank you for your speedy responses. Much appreciated.
Not sure where to go with this, local mechanic ran diagnostics and nothing came up and because he’s in london he can’t drive at 70mph. Even local Land Rover garage couldn’t help.
