Power fold mirrors

Anyone converted their early type mirros to the later powerfold type ??

Is it possible ?

How do you do it ?

Whats needed ?

thanks for wiping my botty Chaser !!!!

I had looked at that and know how to fit them but it didnt make it clear with regards the power fold bit.

My question was regards the fold bit

I understand that they will heat and adjust as per the originals , but what makes them fold ???

is it a switch as per the disco 3 or is it just when ignition is off or what ??

The switch that moves the mirrors, when pushed down folds or unfolds them. You will need the correct switch, it will fit in the same hole in your dash. You will probably have to run some more wires as I doubt they will be in your wiring loom.

OK, it depends on how old your freebie is, the powerfold bit can be retrofitted to facelifted models which should be pre-wired and would require the correct folding switch and the mirror relay which fits to the r/h A post. If you only have 5 wires to the mirrors then you will need to add the circuit for the fold motors via the relay.

the ones I bought are (or were) powerfold but they are faulty

Mine is a 98 so wont have the wiring - ill give it a go when the weather warms up a bit !!
