Morning all,
I have always felt that my 2.5 DT auto over revs a bit. It goes well but, being new to automatics, I seem to want it to change up sooner than it does. (about 3000 revs usually, second to third) Its got the power so why doesn't it change sooner? So I've read on here all about the PSI box and esp. Datateks explanation of how it could knacker the gearbox. On Paddocks it is described as reducing cosumption, improving performance etc etc. It seems to me that the fuelling doesn't need to be messed with, but is it possible to re program the gearbox to change up at lower revs (or torque) , but not so much as the powerbox would?
An unrelated question - can the tickover speed be adjusted via the ECU? Mine starts up well runs at about 1000 for a wee while then drops back to 850. Should this be less, say 750? Does it matter?
Thanks

Change speed depends on how far you have your foot buried in the carpet. Idle RPM is adjustable with diagnostics. Should be 750 +- 50.
