P38A Possible correlation between flat battery and no cruise control?

I have a 4.6 2001 MY Vogue, that recently had a flat battery, drove it for the first time in a while a distance and tried CC and it didn't work! I've checked on here and many posts re loss of CC, which I will go back to, but none I could find related to a possible relationship to having recently had a flat battery...could there be one or is it just an unhappy coincidence?

Doubtful I think. The cruise is mainly vacuum controlled.
I suppose if you've got a fusebox on the way out it could cause faulty cruise and battery drain at the same time.
Not likely but vaguely possible.

Thank you, un happy coincidence I think, not having used CC for a while prior to flat battery, all other fuse related items working(ish) as normal..is there one thread or post that is best re CC do you know of the top of?

Have you got a copy of "RAVE"?
If not, download it. It's free and has an excellent fault finding flowchart for cruise control.
That said, the most common CC fault is the vacuum pipe from the CC unit to the brake pedal. I would suggest replacing that pipe first.
Can you hear a relay clicking when you try to set the cruise?

During the process of the battery flatening, the becm becomes somewhat unstable & can turn features like the cruise control off.

Thank you both, I downloaded the LR P38 1384 page manual! Found where the pipe work went and felt it until I found a crack, replaced it with some rubber pipe I had and hey presto, it worked..so thanks to you and the forum for your assistance..back to 'cruising' around the Highlands &Islands...

If it were me, I'd replace all the pipe, it's not that difficult and if it's gone in one place, the rest will soon follow.

Fully agree..99% of the problems are down to perished/cracked rubber vac. tubing or plastic tee pieces etc. Replace them with silicone tubing-cheap enough.
