hiya

sorry to ask a daft question

as im going to put 4x spots on the front dont know whether to put a pair of spots and a pair of fogs,

as the fogs have a winder spread pattern etc, or isnt it worth putting fogs on due to the amount of times we use them

hope u didnt mind me asking, but just didnt know what u guys did, ie uprate a pair to 100 w bulbs etc

have u put the spots on the centre and fogs outer, etc,

may i ask what is the best set up

thks again for all ur help

gary

From what I know the fogs legally arnt allowed to be higher than a certain Height. Normally they are inline with or below number plate,

Spots can be mounted to grill above number plate, if you look on powerfuluk website the sell the fitting brackets

thks, thats what i thought about the spots on the inside,

also read im fine about fogs as they can go no higher than 1.2m high, 400mm from the edge , and thks about the brackets and thought at first as well them going on the grill but they go onto metal bumper and stick through the grill

thks for the info

still cant find any pics of freelanders that have sq spots fitted

No worries Gary, I don't don't have rear spots. Do you mean the ones on the roof rack?

yes sorry, didnt see them at first, look good

i assume they are mounted on a 3 door roof rack frame,

bet that was fun getting the wire into the car

how do u find the spots, fronts and the ones on the roof rack,

have u got fogs on the front and spots on the roof rack

just think they look really good as some mods look really garish,

Hi Gary, yeah they're mounted on a homemade roof rack, it wasn't to bad getting the wiring inside. They're spots mounted to the A bar and they come on with main beam. The roof lights are on a separate switch, I do get a bit of light pollution through the sunroof. I don't use the roof lights on the road.

Those brackets can be used for fitting spots or fogs as per LR instructions for their genuine brackets and spot/fog lights.

hi

thks again for the info, very helpful, i looked at the brackets and and first thought they were flat, as i realised the bar behind the gril is below the grill openings, then looking at the brackets properly realised they were raised ,

very helpful and ive got a far better idea now, being a woose going to wait for the warmer weather, and then see if i can get someone to lift the bumper off for me, will be ok then as i can sit in a chair and drill the bumper etc., never put rivnuts in. ut time i learnt, lol

been looking online as i want to drill the back of the lights in order i can push wires and sleeving inside,

has anyone ever tried to wire an alarm etc onto there spots etc, ie, just taken one side of the bonnet catch wire extended the loop them back again to the switch, just wondering thats all

thks so much again guys for ur help

gary
