Well, the thing at sainbury's car park in Matlock gets mine every time so I cant see why not.

At least it wasn't....In the fridge?

Well the day has arrived. We take the Portsmouth to Le Havre ferry at 23:15 hrs.
James & Sarah - see you at camping Le Bounty at 18:00 ish on the 17th.
Jamie & Lu - see you at Coja (the square up the high street) on the 21st I guess around mid afternoon. If you call Belinda's mobile prior to your arrival we will meet you there.
Also, when entering Portugal, remember to follow the signs to the vehicle registration/toll paying bay. I know some Brits ignore them, but for the sake of a couple of Euros, it's not worth the risk.

Cool!

We are mostly packed now and will be leaving at 5am on the 17th. Woo.

We will send you a text when we are on our way through France.

James & Sarah,
Campsite is fine. Simple, basic and informal but has all the necessities ie bar with wifi.
We're thinking of doing a BBQ upon your arrival tomorrow. Is this ok with you? And do you have any preferences of meat?
We're eating at the bar tonight, which has only one dish on the menu. Pasty, chips and beans. With a bottle of chilled Chardonnay at only 7 Euros per bottle.
See you tomorrow.

I saw the pics on facebook, it looks nice. I am looking forward to it. I am, however, not looking to the 5am start!

BBQ is great with us, we can bring some meat down with us if you want? Otherwise we eat anything. Neither of us are fussy eaters!

Ah, I guess I'll attach it a bit better then!

If you really want to be legal in France you will also need a High visibility vest, A red emergency triangle, two breathalyzer test kits ,first aid kit and a set of spare light bulbs. And a spare pair of glasses if worn. Think that's about all.Oh, and have your lights converted to LHD or put some sticky tape on them.I cover about a hundred and twenty thousand Kilometers a year for the last eight years and have never been asked for any of them yet. Famous last words.
Think you might need to repack your 90. Have a great trip. Shall look forward to seeing the pic's.

I'll let you know on the packing. It stood up to a days green laning pretty easily so think it will be OK.

I have all of those things on the list, plus I had laser eye surgery a couple of weeks ago, so glasses aren't an issue!

Vince, thank you for the tip about the toll.

Not wishing it to rain but the weather is looking promising. At least it will not be snowing like it did last year when we met up!

Looking forward to seeing you all Sunday.

We're back.
Disco had 3 problems o the trip:-
1/ The cigarette lighter fuse blew, due to me having CB, satnav and a 230 volt inverter plugged in to it. Thankfully I had a spare fuse on board so 5 minutes later power was regained.
2/ Had a slow puncture. Got it fixed in France for 20 Euros.
3/ After a day of driving on Alentejo corrugated tracks, the oil filter started to slowly unscrew itself and leak oil over the campsite at Evora. Thankfully the problem rapidly identified and rectified.

James & Sarah's 90 had a U/J changed at Le Mans, then had a leak from a front hub appeared at Contis plage so although J&S made it to Portugal, it was in a hired car and not the 90.

Jamie & Lu's D4 remained trouble free throughout.

Now thinking about next year's expedition.
