Well I’ve never seen this kind of lift kit design before, might fall over about the price

Portals are cool and standard fitment on things like Unimogs. I think the Volvo C303 also had portals. One of the off road variants of the Mercedes G-Wagon has also had portals (4x4 Squared).

There have been several kits over the years for the Land Rover and other vehicles. Biggest issue is durability and spares, as many of the companies have come and gone. Plus the kits are pricey.

As a rule portals are good as they lift everything bar the hub where the wheel mounts. But of course they don't do anything to improve articulation or suspension travel. And the lift is also quite extreme, usually in the region of 4 inches or more.
 
BTW - most certainly not 'new' as per your title. Portal axles have been around since at least the 1950s, but probably longer. And kits of LRs for at least 30-40 years.

see what u mean with regards to articulation , as wfter watching the video makes more sense

bless u and very impressive and from reading I see there’s also the gwyn Lewis setup


could spend a serious amount of cash adding this kind of set up along with the full hydro steering cyl

thks again for sharing as very interesting, yeh I know I need to get out more, lol
