I fitted new body cappings last year. Fill in the old rivet holes on the body first, prime and paint. The new body cappings are very unlikely to match up with the old holes. Makes it easier to get a reasonable finish rather than rubbing around your new rivets. Take care drilling making sure the capping is flush to the body AND square.
