Polybush fitting

Hi all, just got round to fitting polybushes to the radius arms. Having an issue as I've lost the instructions and the chamfer on the bush is preventing it being pushed home. Should I put a chamfer on the arm or am I missing something. I really want to avoid cutting the bush.

Front or rear arms? Which bushes on arms? It isn't necessary to cut any bushes or the metal of the arms to fit them, lubrication, a jack or vice, use thin steel strips to guide the bushes into the brackets if needed. Are you sure you are trying to fit them right way round?

I think the chamfer is just a bit of wear, there aren't any on mine. Try assembling th bushes in the arm, and jacking it up underneath the axle, guide the bushes between the steels with thin steel strips, old hacksaw blades are ideal. Slathering with grease will help. they are meant to be a tight fit, that is what locates the axle firmly.

Ok thanks, they're currently off the vehicle at the moment, when I get a chance I'll have another attempt this evening
 
Ok, just to be clear it's getting the push into the arm itself which im not sure of

As the photos show I'm struggling to get the bush to remain fully in the arm after pushing them in. Should they be like this or do I have a problem?
 
tube shouldnt really sit proud as bracket is supposed to slightly squash bush and hold arm firm ,not so arm could slide on the tube
 
i fitted mine as James said earlier, by opening the bracket a little with a hammer and using a jack to squeeze them in then bolt them up tight to straighten the bracket out again,
as yours look in the picture is how mine were

Did you notice a slight gap in the middle? As they are they'll fit but it's just the difference between the width of the tube and bush which bothers me
