Hiya to all you out there, I am hopeing someone can give me some advice, please.
I have a RR Vogue 2002 with LPG conversion, and I have 3 problems.

1 My steerin wheel shakes when braking - when I go 40mph or more. I have had 4 new wheels and tyres, and my garage has checked the brak disc and pads. I can't feel the shaking through my foot when braking only the stiring wheel - any ideas?

2 A humming noise, at first I put it down to road noise then it became more fequent, I have had the torque convertor done, everything has been fine for about 4/5 months, now the humming has returned????

3 Engine management light - this use to come on and off, were told that it was to done with running the car on LPG, the reading on the machine said lambda sensor, since having the torque converor done the ligh wont do off at all. I have had my garage check that the senors are all wired in correctly and nothing is in the wrong place, he says all seems find, the only other thing is to replace all 4 senors at £200 each plus labour! but even that isn't
guaranteed to solve the problem - how can I just disconnect the light? or has anyone got any ideas - apart from selling the car, as thats what I'm thinking at the moment.
Thanks for your help.

Number 1...... Any one of a number of possibles... check swivel preload and panhard rod bushes as you cant feel it pulsing through the pedal.

Number 2 ..... Humming??? from where?? Bees in the glovebox??, Crash test dummies doing a rendition of their hit record sat in the rear??, any more info?, did replacing the torque converter cure it last time as you say it has now returned?, check wheel bearings another option but try and give more info or you will get a hundred possibles.

Number 3..... sorry no idea

Cheers Steve

Wheel_wobble

this help when trying to fix your wheel wobble problem

Not a bad little article but time and again on here you get Panhard Rod bush issues causing everything from a slight wobble to a full blown brown trousered panic and life flashing before you (no joke) and yet I'm surprised the article doesn't even mention it???.
Still a good article for tracking down issues but a bad oversight on the publishers part

Cheers Steve

Hi Steve

The humming sound is coming from the engine, but where I can't tell, yes when we had the torque convertor done the noise went, but now it has returned.

The noise isn't there all the time it comes and goes, so it is hard to locate. But it first re-appeared when we was towing our caravan. ????

Hi
1. if its through your steering wheel look at your steering joints your swivels your power steering everything to do with your steering
2. how often do you service your gearbox, propshafts diff oils wheel bearings etc if its when your driving you may well find its a service part that needs to be changed and it is 10 years old so it is to be expected or axle oils and noisey diffs due to not having new oil
3. burn it claim on the insurance or buy 1 lambada sensor and change the sensors one by one until the sensors sort themselves or lust link out the lambada sensors then the light should go out

too bloody right! happened on M62 to me, at 40mph. had to pull over the get the AA to recover me.

I since changed the Panhard bushings and the problem has cleared itself (to some degree, its not perfect)

I notice it sometimes when I've had to take the wheel off and put it back on, possibly moving the wheel weight from its perfect position.

At the moment its spot on, on wobble at all hardly! so I'm gonna paint a spot on the bolt hole on the wheel and on the bolt, then move wheel round on hub to see if that makes any difference.
