I have just acquired a 1995 top spec D1. But I need to have some welding done.
The inner front arches AND bulkhead have rotten away. Can the bulkhead be repaired????
Patched or replaced??

It's right where the arch meets the bulkhead it's that crease and going about 4 - 5 inches up bulkhead. Worse on offside than near side if that helps? I'll try getting some pics up

Its all patchable mate but youve got get it back to good metal.which is the fun part.them holes could be 6 to 8 inch by time you get good metal. All good fun welding it up tho and you know its solid.

Get yourself a cheap mig welder anx crack on with it.

Dude I'm in halstead and just had to do this repair to mine. I cut it all back to good steel and patched it with steel thicker than stock panels to hold the rot off longer, treated and painted.

So if I cut out big holes back to good metal and simply patch over and mig weld a slightly bigger piece over the cut out holes that will be good to pass MOT. I don't mind a bit of patch up and go for now. But just can't afford right now to be buying entire box sections and replacing entire wheel arches??

Where about are you? would like that but I'm working all weekend :( are you near colchester?

My disco is off the road. Also needs a tyre but if your nearby I could pop over on my motorbike?

Id do a patch job for mot then you got a year. To do box section when better weather and moneyis there for the box sections.
