Only had the car a week, car was sold with a "working radio with a damaged screen" but when I arrived the guy said sorry the battery went flat so radio is asking for code, but of course because screen is broke I cannot input code. He kindly gave me another radio to install myself.

I went to install the radio, had to buy a connector from Halfords (10 pin ISO to RCA), tried fitting it - power to radio but no sound. Decided to splice the wires from old radio and just inline crimp them to old ones (didn't know what order so tried various combination) still no sound.

The radio IS outputting sound because when I touch the connections together you can hear a very quiet sound, but the sound will not play through the speakers.

I am sick of driving round without being able to listen to the radio, PLEASE can anybody help me fix the problem. There is also 2 leads which I have not connected the new radio, they look like antenna leads but not actually sure what they do.

Appreciate ANY help.

Thanks.

Radio works, tested using a household speaker.

Car speakers work - "thud" heard when hitting reset button on standard radio (proves they are connected & relieving power from headunit).

Not an RCA adaptor as such, it converts a 10 pin ISO (the larger plug in the range that doesn't fit most standard radios) to RCA's, so you can plug into the output RCA's on the radio.

I have connected the plug that contains the power leads directly into new headunit. Powers up fine.

The other plug, with the paired speaker wires I have connected directly to the output speaker wires from the radio, no sound output though :/

Going to pop it round halfords quickly now to see if they can be of any assistance.
