Plastic ABS Panels

I’m restoring my 1970 2a and need new outer wings, I can’t seem to find anyone who has any metal ones and was wondering if anybody has any experience/ comments on the ABS plastic ones??

I fitted a pair to my 109 truck cab, fitted ok and once painted I cannot see the difference.

S/h wings are still fairly cheap and they are easy enough to take apart so I would not write off that as an option depending on what is around locally. When I was rebuilding mine I ended up with three pairs of wings (bought various job lots of parts to get what I needed) I made a good pair out of the three, and then made and average and a poor pair what I then resold.

i have seen some plastic ones which are quite frankly rubbish

Repairs like that worry me when they are too well done. Someone took care to make sure that fitted and was probably rather pleased with themselves
