plasma cutting

just bought the r tech mains plug in plasma cutter and hope to give it a try out this weekend or next week.

Hopefully this isn't too stupid a question;

how close can you get to a non leaking petrol tank with it before it's good night Vienna?

or is it best to run the tank dry and take it off first?

Take it of first, sparks fly just like a oxy cutting torch
