Hi guys

Had a good look at the chassis the other day and although i know its had a new front dumb iron and a couple of other small patches welded in in the past and i know there is welding to be done behind the removable X member on the chassis rail i have also found either what looks like a crack or its where the o/s bulkhead outrigger joins the chassis and there is an airline gap that looks like a crack between the outrigger and chassis don't know yet till i go prodding so will have to get these done before the M.O.T. is due next year.

anyway got looking on the paddocks site yesterday and looked at the marsland galv chassis and noticed the price has dropped from just under £1.500-£1.150 + vat for a 2.5td/200tdi one so me and son have decided to go half's on buying one aswell as doing the swap over plus anything else that will need doing either before the chassis swap or during the chassis swap but as i don't do loan's or credit cards we will be saving up for it so will probable buy the chassis late next year but in the mean time plan on doing a 2" lift kit on it, re-furbing the axles, and some other jobs on the landy whilst saving up for the chassis so once we get it it will be more or less a straight swap over obviously we could find problems once we start removing the body work and stuff which we expect but hopefully there won't but if there is it will be done.

so from this next pay day me and son will start saving for the new chassis aswell as prepping the 90 till we get the chassis :D:D

Excellent, good luck!

My advice is buy a lot of plusgas or wd40 and coat all the bolts as much as you can before!

Late next year the price will have gone up. I'm not for credit either but in this case and for relatively little money, might be worth a credit card or two or three job. Keep paying of from one to the other. Interest free. I know some one who bought a house that way. Bit risky but she managed it.

Yeah i may be able to get it later this year / early next year but i will have to leave it in the undergrowth and the bottom of the garden to weather off a bit aswell as out of the way of prying eyes chained up of course as i want to paint it in gloss black as i did with my s11a swb galv chassis a few years back :)

If you use mordant solution you won't need to let it weather.

Mine cost less than a fiver for five litres and it is acid based same as the expensive ones, did a good job of dulling the galv down prior to painting;)

Going to start with buying all the parts i need to re-build my front axle aswell as buy a disco rear axle to convert mine to rear disc brakes then once i have the disco rear axle i will start re-building my front axle then move onto the disco rear axle the month after :)
