piston oil cooling jet

i think 1 has broken off when i changed a bent conrod i found a bit after i put it back together that looks like a piston cooling jet will it wreck the engine if i dont do it right away

Assuming you have only broken the jet im sure it wont hurt in the short term, problem being its easy to let the short term get longer, but if you have damaged the banjo bit it may cause a low oil pressure problem.
I would looking to be doing it asap.

cheers i got the bit just gota take it apart and as its a 200tdi conversion on a defender i gota split engine and box to take the 4 bolts out what a pain

Can you not pull head off and sump then remove the rod and piston and fit the jet with a hand down the bore?
Head off is easy as i sump not sure on space to remove it though.
Just an idea probably a stupid one!

by damaged 01 no. piston cooling jet there will not be early problem but ensure to fit new one at the earliest by opening oil-sump itself.
