My 2.5DT is shod with 235.70-16 Michelin 4x4 Synchrone, I have a nice set of OEM five spoke 8 inch rims and I might be able to obtain a set of 255.65-16 ST's.

My question is this, STR are reported as tramliners but I believe ST's were OEM fitments for Ranges, do they tramline???????

Or should I keep looking, I would like the ride and grip of the Synchrone's???

Basically I'm looking at a set of 255's for summer wheels and keeping the 235's for the winter......

Just asking those who might know.........

HAd em on the Disco I sold ta SI couple of years ago and they were great tyres. lots of grip in the wet very quiet and never had any problems with em tramlining on the disco.

ST's are a great tire if you can get them. STR's are fine and don't tramline badly.

16 inch rims are slightly less fussy on the P38s.

On my 18 inch rims, I found the STs to be great both on and offroad but the STRs which are supposed to replace the STs were absolutely awful.
They were so bad the tyre place actually took them back (although since they had sold them to me as STs they didn't have much choice!).

The STRs tramlined so badly it made the car dangerous. They were also much worse offroad than the STs were. Unfortunately I couldn't find any STs anywhere so went with General grabber AT2 all round instead. Now they're very good.!
