Pinzgauer 6x6 or 101FC (both Ambli)

Which makes the best weekend off road camper?

I've ended up owning both, similar age, similar condition, both in good working order. I now have to decide which one I want to keep and fit out.

On paper the Pinz is an easier drive and more capable off road. But in reality there isnt that much difference on road with mine. They each have their positives and negatives.... for example the Pinz is petrol whereas the 101 has a more powerful diesel but the driving position is more comfortable with the Pinz. Also both vehicles off road abilities are more than adequate for what I want. Their bodies are both the same length but the 101 is wider, and of the two would make for a better conversion.

Tricky Does anyone of any experience with both?

lol Its a very close call for me which is why Im hoping to get insights from other peoples experiences. I've had a lot of advice in general about 101s but cant find anyone with Pinz experiences. Hopefully someone will get in touch before I have to pull the trigger

Finally decided on the Pinz even though the 101 flew through her MOT. After being off the road for 4 years she didnt need much; I was pleasantly surprised. In the end though, the Pinz is just an easier drive, more like a normal 4x4 so Ive just stuck the old girl up on ebay for auction..... shame I couldnt keep both!

Someone on this forum was looking for a 101 ambi a while back - has yours still got the v8 in it (they were interested in a diesel)

Its got a 4l diesel engine in it

It's a diesel. Was it a chap called John? He lives close by and I gave him a test drive. I think he's decided to get a motorhome

Thanks nelly but I'm shure this was just on ebay in the last two weeks , and as for my number in all the times I've posted it over the years never had an issue ,but thank you for your reply
