Pimp my Nighty (90....!)

Well, I need a bit of advice as to how I should pimp my 90 ! So...

1. Paint. I want to paint my 90 with the Olive Drab paint the army use. The stuff from Anchor Supplies. Any tips in applying this stuff ? I am gonna brush it on ! (I've been told to warm the paint up in a bucket of hot water before applying...)

2. The body work is a bit banged and dinted (so whats new eh ?) but there are a few rust spots / bubbles that I want to deal with. I take it rub em down / kill rust , prime and paint ?

3. Anyone used the mats and accessories that the usual vendors flog ? I'm interested in making the inside reasonably comfortable. So stuff like those rubber mats etc would be good. Same with things like foot well carpets / mats.

If it's on the bodywork, it ain't rust. Aluminium panels don't generally.

What you've got is 'electrolytic corrosion' - do a search on here and you'll find a far bit about how to deal with it.

Try a gloss/foam roller - if you can get closed cell foam, so much the better. A hell of a lot quicker than a brush and a much more even coat to boot.

Better to do two or three thin and even coats than 1 or 2 thick ones - you'll get a better overall result. Flat each coat back with superfine wet and dry and wipe down with an alcohol based solvent to remove grease and grit between coats.
