In a moment of complete sanity I have just bankrupted myself with a 200,000 mile 1987 Defender 90 with a meaty Isuzu 2.8 motor, driving it home 200 miles across the Highlands in the worst weather Scotland can throw up. I've been hankering for a while for a replacement for the best vehicle (apart from motorbikes) I've ever had, a TD5 which I had for five years. I live in a remote part of a remote island with terrible, potholed single track roads, spectacular rainfall and the most beautiful landscape in the world. Only four people live within five miles of me. I am in pig heaven...

Welcome.
Although have to add "in the worst weather Scotland can throw up" and Skye 'remote' (it's got a bridge to the mainland)? Ummmm, methinks you might be prone to a little exaggeration. Pinocchio.png We're nowhere near the worst weather, for this year or any other year. Enjoy playing in it when it comes :)

Dear Gold Rover,
If you had read my post with less viscous intent you might have noted that only four people live within five miles of me. That's what I call remote. I thought this might be a friendly forum, like the one for old BMW motorcycles, which I have belonged to for years. So thank you for your unpleasant, snidey welcome. Perhaps you could retain your angry, pent-up keyboard-warrior feelings (and your little Pinocchio image) for your Twitter account?

Welcome Aboard :)

Nice looking 90 in a nice colour too :)

Pics are cool - got any more of the scenery round about - tis a bonny place is Skye :)
