And to a great home. :)

Thanks for the interest.

Hi All,
My 25 year old Piaggio APE 50 is for sale. Located around 30 Km east of Porto in N Portugal, it is available with a 2 wheel trailer if needed for a journey to a new home.
Always been in Portugal so no salt on roads to cause corrosion.
It is the rare single headlight model with fully removal back box allowing conversion to pickup in around 10 minutes.
Had all new cables, brakes and tyres this year along with complete service and check over. Everything works and in excellent totally original condition.
All documentation is supplied with the vehicle.
Trailer is CE marked and in great shape. (originally a Jet Ski trailer) - Perfect for tow back to UK or any part of Europe.
Just haven't got time to enjoy it.
Offers over £1000.
Great drive to here from UK - through France or from Santander. Excellent Hotels and Spa (very reasonably priced) within 2 Km from our farm.
Beautiful place for a holiday.

PM for more details.

They are brilliant for nipping about our lanes. Mi es got a 112 cc engine and it copes well with weight in it. More people should use them.

I agree, much more practical, and cheaper to run, than a van if you are a window cleaner or whatever.

They do have a unique sound and appearance on the road, though, not to mention the distinctive smell! :)

I believe the conversion is extremely cheap as well. The municipal council in Povoa da Varzim have 8 of them that the tradesmen working for them use. I think they have a 90 or possibly the 112 conversion and it is extremely cheap by all accounts - The local guys say it doubles the carrying capacity. I have seen the Povoa ones hauling a cr&p load of bricks and bags of cement etc - I was offered the capacity conversion (apparently very simple to do) during the last service (done at the agent in Povoa) but declined as I wanted to keep it original. I think it was less than 200 euros fitted which I thought was amazing. We also have many here in daily use in the mountain areas. This one came from the Serra region near Vieira do Minho where it was used to collect herbs and plants for a local apothecary.
Also here in Portugal, for this vehicle, there are no road tax, insurance or license required. I think there are many in the rural areas of Europe as they are used in the villages where the streets are too narrow for a normal vehicle. We still have mobile shops and deliveries here. They are used for everything. Fish, bread, grocery and even wine selling in the villages. It also seems as if many are used as advertising methods in the touristy areas as they turn heads wherever they go.

What's that concrete block column for?
Looks a bit 'im gonna fall over in a stiff breeze'
o_O
Its a support for what used to be a covered area for the tractor. It has re-bar down the middle so ain't going anywhere. I like to think of it as 'a monolithic antiquity'. There are 6 more and when the stars align you can glimpse the heavens..

Don't give em ideas! Wont be long before someone starts making expansion chambers and tuned reed valves for em, and the bloody things will be wheelie-ing down front street! :D

Normal ....:)
