Well I was all geared up to do my HG, but after gunking the engine last weekend and checking again today, I'm not convinced.

These photos show the oily bits, all on the passenger side of the engine. It's not really leaking a massive amount, a couple of small drips on the drive overnight if that.

What does everyone else think? Certainly looks to be coming from the HG area, but maybe the manifold? Why could oil be around one the of the head bolts?

Thanks all.

Blimey - it would take many hours of work and parts to leave mine that clear of oil...!!!! The patch above the level of the hg level seems to point to summat else, and I'd put good money on any opinion given by Mr. Martin....... Good luck, A

Mine has the exact same leak, I was pretty convinced it must be the head gasket weeping as the rocker cover gasket seems fine. So are you saying the manifold gasket would leak causing oily residue? Might explain the tappy sound if so. Would that be the exhaust port?

Thanks all.

That has to be it then, as i've started getting a very slight tappy noise which I was convinced was something in the dash vibrating. The more I think and look at it, I thought it was valve adjustment.

I will order a new Manifold gasket and adjust the valves to be sure...

Thanks again.
