So I've taken off the side defender stripes and three out of four came off super cleanly. However one has left the most stickiest persistent goo ever. It's a nightmare. Used meths, white spirit, adhesive cleaner, degreaser, wd40, olive oil, steamer, hair dryer and nothing works!

Has anybody got any tips for getting this off because it's getting in to way of the paint restoration I'm carrying out.

Thanks

Paint thinners, get it on then wipe it all off reasonably soon, leaving it on the paint for too long will mark the paint - I have done this plenty of times and it works well.

If it isnt clart loads of residue, try scratch-X from meguiars. Its an abrasive so should rid you of the clag.

I have used it when I took badges of cars (Dont ask - I tought it looked good at one point!!)

Forgot the easiest, safest and cheapest one - cooking oil!! Gently dissolves the glue and doesn't marr the paint. Dab it on thick then leave for a few mins, then start working it in.
