hi there can anyone give me any advice
i have a series 2 tax exempt hybrid its running what ive been told a 3.0 ltr turbo diesil alloy rocker mazda perkins engine as i have never herd of these i would just like to no if ayone has any info on them its runnings on a 4 speed range rover gearbox and on a range rover chassis discs all round

would also like to know if mounting it to a 90 box would be hard and any better as would like to use it at a run about?

thanks ricky

will get some pics on asap no not yet it has a massive turbo and pulls realy well its a series body but on a different chassis and engine its allowed my dads doing a hybrid aswell disco chassis and 200tdi with zeus kit anythings possible

I think it's 5 for the chassis, 2 For the suspension, 2 for the axles and 1 for the engine and transmission ( each)

unless its a pre 73 RR - fack all points....

i don't think the age of the doner vehicle is relevant - it's registered as a S2 but has had a chassis change. It's either a Q plated S2 or a modified rangie and its registration should reflect that.

I had an SLTi but have seen some of the other engines.
As far as I know the 3.0 litre is a HA, I think it might well be the same as a 4-182 perkins! Motor and Diesel will know about them, look them up on google. I don't remember either the 4-182 or HA having ally rocker cover though.
If it's anything like the SLTi it is a fantastic engine.
Not sure about teh HA but the SLTi spares were seriously expensive from motor and diesel, they took the ****, it was far cheaper to buy them from Australia! They came out of Mazda and Ford vans/trucks sold in that part of the world.

i bought an old rangerover with one of these engines fitted it is 3 L mine is non turbo and has the ally rocker cover only around 80 hp i think.. they are a perkins 4182 made under licence by mazda in early 80s , some spares are avalable as they were commonly fitted in hyster forklift trucks starters , water pumps ect,
