Anyone tried sticking a perkins 4236 lump in a Disco or RRC? If so what they go like?

Think me 200Tdi getting a bit tired and I'm finding myself hauling tratters for me mate more and more often so I'm after extra cubes ie grunt. Thought about a 4203 possibly aswell, but if I can get hold of a 4236 or even one with a turbo it can only be better right?

i had a series 3 with a perkins 4203 in it could pull an aircraft carrier out of the sea onto land but by ek it was a plodder. 50 thashing it :)

My mates got a 6354 he was gonna use for a massey ferguson tratter conversion which he'll probs never get round to, gonna see if i can coax him into letting it find it's way into my shed instead:D dare say if i pull it off it'll be one of the only discos with that engine in it

Just put a 200 or 300 tdi back in , your going backwards fitting the old perkins engines. They are slow reving and not very fuel efficient .
I put a 4/98 leyland (3.8L) in a 109 back in seventies , had to put overdrive and 4.3 diffs max speed 65 on govenor , very heavy on front end
and was more like driving a tractor than a road vehicle , pulled well up hill etc not good on NVH though JMHO
