ouch, that was a bit bitchy, especially towards a newcomer , i must confess i am a women (shock horror), i'm inqurinig on behalf of my dad who as i said, is currently having problems installing his tuning box. His freelander is a TD4 se with a 2litre engine, and we really do need your help, but i refuse to beg, lol. . Any of you guys who are man enough, and wishing to aid a damsel in distress please email me at [email protected]. in the future my dad will hopefully be posting, and he is new to all this chat room stuff, so hold ya tongues guys and don't give him no rubbish over this...xxxx

Ouch!

Sorry charley bit of a mad half hour last night,you know what its like,boys and cars and drink.
Any how Trevor! Td4 motor,tuning box, Is there a lable on the thing to say who made it? how many plugs has it got on it?
Get stuck in to a reply trevor ,dont worry about spellin and the like,
left click on the white box at the bottom,type wot yer need to say and left click "submit reply" you'll soon get the hang o this tinternet thing

if replacing the fuel filter solved the problem for a few week, have you rechecked that?. there sounds like you might have some sort of contamination in your tank that is blocking the filter or suction pipe. is there a screen or filter on the pump in the tank? is that fouled?. had a similar problem on a boat and found the tank had a bottom full of swarl.

It says its a diesel Tuning box by CR, nothing else on the label. it has one lead coming out of it, splittting into two wires each having a single plugging connection. thankyou

Ok trevor!
So one will be a male plug and the other female,
If you look at the Right hand side of the fuel rail there is a plug / socket this is where the box fits.
remove the plug from the rail and (I think it has a clip to press)
then one of the plugs ,on the box ,will push into the rail and the other will go into the loose lead that you removed from the rail,If that makes any sense,
Just make sure that the plugs on the box, either have the same coloured wires as the car,or they have the same clip in bit,otherwise it could be possible to plug them in upside down.the ones on the car have the clip to prevent you putting them in the wrong way.
I'll have a look for a photo for you.

Er yep sorry Trevor but the MONDO IS CORRECT ON THE CONNECTING OF THE CR BOX, after connecting up ,you will see a very fine screw adjustment , ya have ta turn this anti clockwise to increase power, remember how many turns ya make ,bout 3=10 hits the power spot, and a very good tool,so best oh luck. . .

We now know where the tuning box connects to, but unfortunatly the connecters on the tuning box are the wrong fittings. Has anyone got any suggestions as to which tunning box would be suitable. My vehicle specifications are; a 2001 landrover freelander TD4 se with a 2litre BMW commonrail engine. cheers.

Trevor ,it doe's fit youve made a common mistake,their is another set of connectors not far where you are ,good look and you will find it,ya dont cut any cable it plugs in. . .best oh luck. . .

just to let ya all know he's now managed to fit it, and its working fine. thanks everyone for all ya help.. and it was actually sunny today, hurray...
