I have a 57 plate Freelander 2. When washing the car recently I noticed a number of patches on the roof where the paint is cracking and peeling.

I booked it into the Land Rover dealer and was informed that it is bird lime damage. I know that bird lime can be a problem, but I have never experienced this on any other vehicle in 20 years of ownership. There also appear to be other defects on the roof so I am going to pursue this.

Any advice on who best to contact at Land Rover? Anyone else experienced this?

Before contacting anyone at LR it might be a good idea to get a second opinion from a respected auto body repairers.
I suspect that blaming bird lime is a standard 'get out' for most main dealers.
