We were out on Stanage Edge this weekend and got stopped on the road by a copper...

He wanted to speak to all the drivers, so we gatherd around...
'here we go' I thought, he's gonna give us a hard time about something or other...

Actually he was pro 4x4, trail riders etc. and wanted to talk to us about a website that he was actively involved in.

www.peakdistrict.gov.uk/vehicles

He gave us all a leflet with details on it... here's a quote from it.

Keeping you informed
We have set up an email distribution group to keep motor vehicle users updated about relavent issues in the Peak District National Park. To get them email: [email protected]

Anyone planning a laning trip to the peaks may want to join his email distribution group so they get the news of any TRO's or lane closeures while they are planning thier routes, and before they head down a recently closed lane.

edit: there's also a telephone number you can call when researching your routes:

01629 816200 (8-45am -5pm weekdays)

Nice one B. They were on about this a while ago, nice to see it's set up now ... ;)

Good stuff and thanks for the link.

Sooner or later it's going to happen that the map says it's a lane, a check with the council says it's open, no sign at the lane says it's shut, but somehow it is shut and the law ass rapes you. The more info / intel the better.
