So you think I spent my entire paternity leave playing with my "toy"? My" toy", as you call it, is also my only form of transport which I maintain and look after myself as much as possible.. My 3 year old was outside with me whilst I played with it keeping him out of mothers hair. And I do my fair share of cleaning cooking nappy changing feeding etc as well as my full time job.Absolutely right, in the modern world the father is expected to help with the new bundle of joy, to help his wife/partner adjust to having the responsibility of caring for a new life, not playing with his bloody toy.
First off congrats!
Secondly I don't really care as long as I have time off to be fair, I know my company like most others make more than enough money paying me half of what I should be getting! So peternity is the least they can do for us!!!

get couple of weeks of paid leave 9 months later,
result...
everyones happy...
but hang on, I`m old, I had to work through the mrs & new bubba,
thats not fair is it,
me & mrs had children under a work ethos government,
but one that gave you nothing for a birth.....
then along came an evil viper and his female version of judge dread,
with her family roots what do you expect she/they stood for,
well, it was a split between robbing the state,
while giving away freebies for what was left.... nice ... lol
wonder how much pension the pair get now, and wonder just how much they cost YOU & ME now till they keel over...

oh, them being labourites, why, your not jelous are you,
being not on paternity leave and that......

and not, very not, as we do................................

But hang on; im old too. My first was born and I was entitled to nothing. I didn't complain, I got on with it. My second was born only 3 years ago. I would have been entitled but took nothing. I didn't complain, I got on with it. My third was born on the 4th of this month and you know what? After working for the last 34 years and having never ever claimed a penny in dole, benefits or any other government handout I thought "what the f**k, im having paid paternity leave'. If that don't suit some of the old die hards who "weren't entitled to this and that in my day".........tough s**t. Off to work now to help pay for someone else paternity leave. You all have a nice day.
