Hi All

I have noticed water in my passenger side footwell. Having done many searches etc, I cleared the pipe under that side of the car of any blockages etc however I still had water in there when I next used the AC. Can anyone tell me how I can get access to the pipe where it attaches to the evaporator inside the car? I thought that it may have come off or something similar.

Many Thanks

Ron

Are you sure the pipe is an AC drain and not the sunroof gutter drain ?

On most cars there are two sunroof gutter drains, one on each front corner of the sunfoof itself. They run across the headlining, down the screen surround/A-post and out through the sill. If they fall off at the sunroof end, the water runs across the headlining, down the screen surround and into the front footwell.

This is where I look a right pr*t when we find out this RR doesn't have a sunroof:)

You will find the drain behind the carpet in the passenger footwell where it meets the centre console side panel - pull out the carpet a little and you will see a corrigated boot looking pipe - it will be kinked - thats where the blockage is caused - pull the bottom end up until it comes off the Ducks Ar*e valve in the floor and cut approx 10 mm off it clear it out and put it back - jobs a good un.
The reason it is kinked is because LR use the same pipe both sides and the passenger side is a shorter reach.
There is a thread on here about it some where

Hi there

many thanks for the responses. I'll have a look now. P.S. it does have a sunroof so don't worry but no water on the roof and only water when the ac is on. Cheers

I have 2 AC pipes on my car, got a long 20cm pipe cleaner and spent a couple of hours cleaning it. All ok now. both pipes were either side of the gearbox.

Hi all

Took out the heater blower and found that water was coming in behind through the pollen filter. I am guessing the filter cover is not water tight so I have put some sillcone sealant around it. Thought it might help someone else. Cheers Ron
