Advised on three areas of corrosion underneath. Both inner sills at the rear, and the body support bracket on the rear offside. Looks like that bracket is spot welded on, and its gone between the spots, easy to get at except its near the fuel tank. The boot floor is looking a a bit iffy from underneath too. The two double skin sections that follow the chassis line are very weak, on the offside where the boot support member runs under the tank. theres also a steel band that runs under the tank which is broken in two above the exhaust. Not sure if it warrents a new boot floor or not. Just need to remove the side steps to get at the sills. Have an arc in the shed, and would prefer to leave it there. :)

Looks like the arc will be coming out of the shed after all, bank account is empty, sills are easily accessible, tank is straight forward to remove, I have plenty of experience welding cars with the arc going back over 20 years.Grind down to nice shiny steel with 1.6 rods should do the trick nicely.
Video`d the eclipse in 2000 using the welding mask as a filter, cant remember if i`ve used it since.

Before and after with the arc welder. The single photo of the rusty bracket, where i`m too scared to weld without removing the tank.

If I was to mark my welding from an A to a D, I would give myself a D+ as I got a nice seam going on one edge of a plate.

Thanks for all your constructive comments, they are much appreciated.

Hahah I'm only messing around buddy. It's good to be able to do it yourself! Feels much better than paying someone else to do it.
