Evening Folks ,

Am having great difficulty in sourcing this part for a Freelander 1 2004 TD4 :

ROD - GEAR CHANGE: UKN101000

Have tried main dealers and this part is no longer available & no aftermarket either , this is pretty strange as I can’t believe there is not an alternative out there , has anyone had the same problem or managed to fabricate something that will do the job ?

Yes Pal , tried around 10 stockists , just can’t believe it’s obsolete and what makes it worse no aftermarket replacement either. So come 5 years time if every FL has a faulty Gear Rod it’s of to the skip with the

The top one ses it provides a more sporty shift feel.

Eye think either would do but would go fer the second one if it were not fer me smooth as silk auto which dun't have one. ;)

Also second one supports a business that makes other Freelander kit.

Also see they make tank cradles

If yer ever struggling ont price of parts and yer know the part number yer can call a main dealer ter see if they still have it available. If yer describe what and where it is located they should still be able ter find it. Yer eye know... but it tells yer wot the maximum price should be. Also if the part has been superseded anorl. The superceded part is often a better price when the old ones are sold higher as yer can't get them anymore. Lrseries are good fer quoting lr genuine main dealer price and superceded part numbers anorl, ont their web site.

He's oft lz and has Freelander's so must be er gooden ;)

£80 fer a tank guard is a good price.

Didn’t realise that it’s one of our members :)

That’s what I thought and they never useto come up very often :D

Tank guard prices did go through the roof not many years ago but there's a supply now so price is more realistic. It got to the point Freelander owners nearly had ter start buying welders.

He's diesel do on ere.
