HI all just finished fitting a tow bar electrics yesterday.

I used a new LR loom and bits.

I am sure when I used it yesterday all was well, but today the parking beepers don't automatically come on when I put it in reverse.

other than disconnecting the tow bar electrics and seeing if that works, anything else I can try?

I think when a trailer is plugged in the reversing sensors should turn off when a trailer is connected to stop it giving you false reversing alarm sounds

QUOTE=2.0_hippo;2684825]Yes because the proper genuine trailer kit requires its own ECU

More sophisticated as you expect[/QUOTE]

More stupid IMO:eek::rolleyes:[

It will need programming so all the other ecu can communicate with each other, nearly all land rovers now need programming when an ecu or motor etc is changed or added to the vehicle, even defenders now!!!!

My tuppence incoming.......

I recently fitted a towbar with LR loom and ECU and it works fine. No set up..
Plug in trailer and rear sensors de-acivate, simples:p

Datatek the new defenders even have dpf units now, how daft is that defenders are used generally at low speed and short journeys not motorway miles or speed. You would be suprised how many go wrong.

Ok.
It looks to be an intermittent thing.
So as it has happened at the same time as fitting, I will disconnect and see if beepers work every time and then reconnect.

I'll report back.
