:D Who here has parabollics fitted? How much better are they? Are they worth it? ...and there seems to be a large price difference, why are some more expensive than others, and is that difference worth it?

Think thats all....?

I've got paras on my series 2 accompanied by monroe gas shocks. on the tarmac I don't notice any real difference but when laning they're an improvement on standard leafs. As for price variations I can't comment chap.

Regards WP.

Makes a huge difference on the 109's. my brother has them fitted to his and ride is much better than mine on the road, as well as much better off road.... Planning on switching mine over when the funds allow, hopefully with the frame swap..

I have had them on my SWB s3 for about 15 months now. They give you a huge amount more articulation off road and they soften the ride out on the road. When I put mine on I went all over looking at price and the different brands of spring in the end I went for Brit-part. Some of the cheaper brands had a reputation of flattening out after a very short time; some of the more expensive brands were out of my price range. I went for 2 leaf at the front and 3 leaf springs at the back. For the first 8 months of having them on I kept standard oil filled shocks which worked fine, I have now got gas filled pro-comp shocks these made the handling better on road and gave even more axel travel off road.

Geez this get confusing, I thought that breetpart parabolics were getting a real bad rap because they often sagged? Theres seems to be a fair respect for Rocky Mountains and Bearmachs?

i got my parabolics from m&m 4x4, the rubber bushes were crap and only lasted 9 months but the springs themselves are very good. i have put polybushes in them and haven't noticed any sagging over 3 years. you will need to uprate your dampers if you haven't already because the standard springs rub together as part of the damping which parabolics don't.

Fitted them to my 2 a about 3 years ago and there is a bit of sagging going on on the drivers front. I am not sure if this is chassis related though as I did do some welding on it at the same time. I need to get out there and do some measuring.
I have to say though I love the ride and handling but am not over impressed with the quality. Mine were britpart and the bushes are absolute dump. They are the large diameter ones so I can't replace with polybush.
I will spend a bit more cash when the bushes go again and get a better set of springs.

you can replace the bushes with polys on the larger diameter springs. if you remove the center tube and rubber leaving the outer tube of the bush, standard polybushes can be fitted!!! its not as tight a fit as they are in a standard spring but there is definitely no play.

Hi put parablolics on a lightweight made no difference wot so ever, but put them on my mates series 3 diesel and made one hell of a difference.Hope this helps!!!:)
