Hi, having seen various posts regarding leaf springs and the need to ensure you get the correct handed ones. Can anyone confirm if parabolic springs are handed or not? Any assistance appreciated

The Rears I got from Jones for my 80" were handed. From what I recall even on conventional the fronts are the same, it's just the rears that are handed.

I had several sets from Paddocks to start with - none of which were handed and I couldn't get rid of the infamous landy-Lean. Ended up getting a set from GB Springs (handed) and all sits perfectly level - at the end of the day the weight distribution remains uneven whichever springs you put on, so unless they are stupidly stiff it's going to lean...in fact I would guess that given that parabolics move easier, the need for handed springs would be even greater?

I bought a pair of Britpart 11 leaf (non-parabolic) that didn't look handed as the camber was the same on both sides. I stuck them on, and when I came off the stands the back end was suddenly level where I'd always had a lean, and I had some good clearance under the mudflaps for a change. After 200yds drive back to the house though the lean was ridiculous and I phoned up and found out that although the free camber isn't the same, they are still sided and you can tell by the part numbers. I haven't come off the stands yet though to compare as I've been doing other bits.

I fitted exactly these, and they are part numbered the same as the Land Rover S3 parts catalog, fitted the correct way around my Landy sits perfectly level, and has stayed the same for a few thousand miles now. I'm more than happy with Britpart standard multi-leaf springs on my 88"

I have had mixed results with each, the main problem I had was with some GB, which they did replace. it sagged on the passenger side and my wife complained it made her look fat!

Thanks Murtle, may be I go for leafs rather than para's!
