Hi all !
Ive recently become the owner of a 96 DSE P38 and have had niggly bits that have needed doing..1 of which is the instrument/panel lights for the heater controls.
Ive purchased all new bulbs for the unit and they have all come on as should..The problem im having is i can only find 4 bulbs..
1 for the left hand (Heated windows and Blue/Red arrow)
1 for the centre Temp display
and 2 for the bottom (Heated seats and blower direction)
And now of a night i have no lights on the Drivers side (a/c,recirc,Blue/Red arrows or "Auto dial)
Can anyone please give me a clue as to where the bulb is to light that side up?
Many Thanks Tel

Very same has just gone out on my 1998 RR. Was it quite easy to remove the rotary knob and replace?

Hi there!
Sorry for the delay in replying...Yeah,it really is that simple..
Grasp the rotary knob "the whole lot comes off,the centre marked AUTO and the twisty surround"
Its tight but it just pulls off straight....that reveals the "inners of the switch" still in the dashboard and the clear bulb,,the bulb just pulls out and the new one pushes in...Real simple...When pushing the rotary knob back on,check the back.......
It has two black 1inch long prongs that slide into 2 slots located on the inner switch....Really is a simple 5 miniute job!..
Hope this helps!

Hi Boydonegood

How is it going.

I noticed that you replaced the bulb for the left hand up and down arrows on the heater. Mine has gone out and needs to be replaced.

how do you get to it? Is it simple or do I have to take the side trim bits off them the wood surround off the get the heater out?

thanks

Geo

Rotary knob is meant to pull off but mine was not for moving so I prized it of very gently with a small screw driver.

Under the rotary knob is a small bulb, take this out by hand and replace. I got mine from a local car assessory shop for under a pound.

There is a light pipe which takes light from this one bulb out to the other switches around it.

Gently replace knob again, there are plastic guides so watch and not break them.

Hi Geo!
How's life with the RR?
Have you still got my email? [email protected] drop me a line tommorow and i'll talk you through it screw by screw,as am doimg Dads!
Is a very easy job, just a little time consuming( id guess 30 mins max if i remember) only simple screws...In the HEVAC (The arrows and LCD bit ) there are 4 tiny bulbs (and one in rotary knob) They are about 70p each from LR so while its out,you may as well change all 4,as its a pain to do the whole job again 2 weeks later!
From memory they are an odd size, and so had to get them from LR's as local car parts did not have them..
Cheers ,LTel
