ask yer local car paint shop for summit to stop the new paint reactin' (can't remember what it's called) then flat back the old paint, use that stuff, primer it, flat it back and stick yer new paint on;) Ah'd go for synthetic paint meself as it's more forgivin';) :D
barrier coat is what i think you mean..not used it myself....synthetic is more forgiving as they is less solvent in it to react with the previous finish.....the fun starts when you have to recoat synthetic if it goes wrong:D:D:D

barrier coat paint is now illegal to sell in the EEC, but you might be lucky to find some old stock

ah like two pack paint then , cant buy that as easy no more, think yer limited on how much yer spray a year too

to buy 2 pack paint you now have to register with your supplier and sign to the effect that your premises comlies with all the H&S requirements regarding emission reduction and recycling and that the paint is going to sprayed onto a pre 1985(I think) vehicle.

dunno bout emissions, me joiners shop complys wi the dust regs and disposal o waste finishes, didnt kno bout the age of the vehicle tho! learn somethin new every day
