When it's sound and mechanically perfect then think about a bonny paint job!!
No I like the original scruffy paint I’d just fix it mechanically and put the right stripes on.. but it’s not mine

So do I but I like it all to be uniformly scruffy and match. I would not have repainted the series if it had come with the original doors, I would have repaired them and left all the patina. Like any paint it is all about the prep work, so they were all cleaned, sanded down, primed and then top coated. Putting the paint on has a knack and takes a little trail and error practice but you soon get used to it. You need just the right amount of paint and to not over work it to get a good finish with a roller. Will try and take a close up photo when it stops raining so you can see the finish.
Yes uniformly & matching scruffy is best but that’s hard to achieve and (imo) you have the next best thing, it tells a story so to speak. If it’s bugging you though then obviously you need to paint it once the mechanics are sorted. I’ve converted three of those to truck cabs in the past (I just like them) with the wrong colour cabs and just flatted then puffed it over with aerosols so the paint’s not too shiny and new, I ‘aged’ the new stripes I put on my Ninety with some wire wool once too.
lol that’s just crazy....I just thought one I have FINISHED the chassis then to keep value or raise it I’d need to not make it look like a rusty skip...I like the blue and the stickers and tbh now I look at it in the rain it looks abit better wet haha...maybe I should just laquar where it’s came off and mop it all to see what it’s like....biggest issue tho is the back is rough and when I replace tub cappings they will be new paint and will look odd
You could always leave them in a bare galv. It would not be original but that is what the older vehicles had. Alhtough replacing parts is the reason both of mine have been painted.

Then park it. Figure what parts you need, even buy a new chassis and put in a sea container. take it apart cuts chassis in half as it would then be parts. Then rebuild it in the USA and then you will have a vehicle worth 30K or so.
