Tried painting my odd-coloured door top today bloody thick in the cold weather even after leaving the door top and tin of paint in front of the halogen heater....

is it worth trying to thin the paint with thinners before applying or will that just make a bad job worse?

Chassis paint went on lovely though...half tempted to paint the whole sodding thing black!

I've heard that if you stand the paint tin in warm (not boiling) water it makes the paint go on with a better finish. IIRC it was in one of the old LRO practical sections when they were painting up a series 3 :)
