Hi , peeps , I have a 2.5td RR . It revs but I have no power when I try to drive . I've had it running but it struggles at 30mph , any ideas !!!!

Sounds like it's in "limp home" mode for some reason. Could be one of umpteen things from a leaky air hose or a chaffed sensor wire to something more drastic. Best plugged into a diagnostic machine to confirm as you will probably know how temperamental a RR can be.

thanks mate , unfortunately I have had it on and nothing is coming up !!!!!!

On the plus side, that has told you an awful lot. You have established now that the ECM is not limiting the engine power due to a sensor fault. As far as the ECM is concerned, everything is running just fine so you can eliminate at a stroke, all of the causes/faults that would be detected by the ECM.

I'm not an expert on diesels, but to develop power isn't it just a case of throwing in the right amount of fuel to reflect the air that has been drawn in. So, looking at fuel and air .....

Does the RR ECM control the fuelling or is it just fuel timing it controls ?
Does the RR ECM control the turbo wastegate ?

Is it possible the turbo isn't being spun up because the wastegate is erroneously dumping all the boost, is it possible that there's a mechanical problem in the injection pump ?

These may be just a load or inane ramblings, it's just that I'm trying some lateral thinking that may jog the memory of someone who know's what they are talking about :)

Hi , thanks for the replies . I have taken it to the local RR garage and it turns out to be the turbo !!!!!!!!!! thanks again for all replies .
