Hi guys, Right my dad has a 2.5D range rover. Having a few issues with it at the moment.

Firstly cold starting can be a problem. It is an intermittent problem. It is more likely not to start if it has less fuel in the tank.
Have replaced the glow plugs to ensure they are definatly ok, made no difference, Have check the fuel return pipes that connect to the injectors, all seem tight and not leaking. What other things can i check?

Secondly acceleration/gear changing issues. Now i know they're not the most powerful of 4x4s and they are blumin heavy, but it just doesnt seem to have much go in it at all. unless near the top of the rev range. The gear changes when accelerating seemed a bit erratic. and when going up hills, but changing the gear box oil and filter seems to have improved it slightly. IS there anything common to check to do with acceleration side of things, and gear box side of things?

Thanks in advance

Scott

Sounds like the in tank pump has gone if it's worse with a low tank.
For down on power, that can also be due to the in tank pump but also check the pipe from the MAP sensor located on the fuel filter housing that goes to the underside of the inlet manifold for splits.

that pipe looks brand new, no splits or crask of any kind in it.
Are the fuel pumps hard to replace? or is it as easy as opening up that inspection panel and being able to replace it through there?

Cheers

You have to drop the tank, or cut a hole in the floor. there's a great thread with instructions by Canyon on here.
